2023-2024 Board Member Position Now Open
Attention all sisters who have a heart for serving our Sisterhood. The Nominating Committee for The Denver Kappa Friendship Fund is currently accepting names for consideration for multiple DKFF Board positions. Sisters who are interested in serving in any of the following offices are encouraged to submit their name for consideration: President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Scholarship Chair and several Member At Large positions. Officers serve two-year terms while Scholarship and Member at Large serve for one year.
As a member of the DKFF Board, you will play a role in the raising and distributions of funds for the DKFF, which is the philanthropic arm of the Denver Alumnae Association. The DKFF is a 501(c)3 organization. As such, it is up to the DKFF Board to be sure that all Federal rules and regulations for tax exempt organizations are met and to oversee the distribution of those funds.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
The general expectations for all board members are:
MEMBER AT LARGE: The MAL is a voting member of the DKFF Board and participates fully in the general business of DKFF. The role of the MAL is to learn all aspects of DKFF with hope of continued participation and to serve in a greater leadership role with DKFF in the future
SCHOLARSHIP: Responsible for the review and selection of scholarships which are awarded to Actives of the Kappa chapters served by our organization.
SECRETARY: Responsible for keeping and maintaining an accurate account of all business meetings.
TREASURER: Responsible for all financial matters of the DKFF including deposits, writing checks, annual budget, etc. Must have a basic knowledge of QuickBooks. Annual federal tax filings are done by our accounting firm.
PRESIDENT- ELECT: Should have prior DKFF Board Experience. President-Elect serves for two years and then will move up to fill the office of President for 2 years. President-Elect must be willing to assist the President and serve in her absence. Knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order are a must.
If you are interested (or know of someone else who would be interested) or have questions, please contact Hilde Gill Kaiser, Chair of the Nominating committee by March 15,2023 at [email protected] or 303-378-9055.
